I would like to offer a warm welcome to our members and to our newest CPCU designees! Our board has been busy planning upcoming events and we look forward to another exciting year for our CPCU chapter.
As the new chapter officers were installed in June, it was bittersweet to say farewell to some of our USAA members that relocated to other states. We wish them the best of luck! For those USAA members remaining in our area, we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
We gathered at Finn McCools in September to kick-off our new year, and I was delighted to see the continued involvement of our membership and the commitment to encourage others to see what the chapter has to offer. In addition to serving our current members, we are looking for ways to grow our relationship with our future CPCUs as they work towards their designations. With the approaching changes to the CPCU curriculum, we are optimistic that more of our industry peers will begin their pursuit for the designation. We want to promote the chapters ability to offer encouragement and support in their studies and will urge you to consider being a mentor for our candidates.
For the fourth year in a row, our collective efforts led to the chapter achieving the distinct honor of Gold Level Circle of Excellence Recognition for 2008-2009. As we set our sights on Gold level recognition for the upcoming year, we will strive to serve your needs and enhance your CPCU experience through social networking opportunities, riveting educational events and the ability to give back to our communities through our Annual Charity Golf Tournament.
While the board is thrilled about our plans for the upcoming months, we are not able to be successful without your participation! We will continue our tradition of having events on the 3rd Thursday of each month and I encourage you to attend! Your ideas are needed for future topics or events and I ask that you consider joining one of our committees as we put our plans into action. Any contribution you provide will be appreciated!
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or another member of the board. Again welcome, and lets make this another great year!
